Easy Breezy

Hi team!

This week, I’m excited to share some of my favorite summer beauty products. Now, I’ve never filmed a makeup tutorial, and find calling it that a little bit hilarious, because I am no expert, but I have sat in hair and makeup chairs for countless hours on photoshoots since my start in modeling at age 15, so I have picked up a few tips and tricks from the pros. I’m definitely a makeup minimalist and favor a very natural look. I've also upgraded my routine over the last couple of years and I do find that having beautiful products, with minimal chemicals helps elevate the daily ritual of getting ready. And sometimes, buying a pretty new lipstick or eyeshadow can be the pick-me-up you didn’t know you needed. 

For those who aren’t so interested in beauty products, here are a few amuse bouches for the week. 1. Some music: My playlist, Relaxez Vous is extremely chill and kept me relaxed on a jet-lagged 3 hour ferry in Greece. Highly recommend for a transit soundtrack 2. A food tip: Since it is basil season, I thought I’d share a lil tip on basil storage I saw on Food52. I’ve been doing it like this all week without a lid and it works great! 3. Something to watch: If you like a laugh, I watched Hannah Einbinder’s special Everything Must Go on Max and it was so good! I love her on Hacks and she’s just as brilliant here.

We’re off to Rome and then Puglia, for my first time, next week. Excited to do the pasta research for you and share some great spots when I return! Hard work, but someone’s gotta do it ;)

SKINCARE

First things first, my favorite cleanser is by Amala. Very gentle. I love Lesse Moisturizer. It’s rich, but doesn’t break me out or pill under makeup. For eyes, my number one fave is Susanne Kaufmann eye cream. It’s expensive but I think worth it. Another good one is by Mila Moursi and has a nice metal applicator. These YSE eye patches are great. I love keeping my Doré Glacon in the freezer to do a little depuff. Speaking of Doré, their micellaire water is the best for taking off all your makeup after the day! SPF is obv very important. La Prunier is really nice and I also love the YSE beauty glow primer both with SPF 30.

MAKEUP

For the face, I am obsessed with my Fara Homidi compact. She’s a makeup artist I’ve known for a long time and always does the best natural skin. This complexion product is so great, it has beautiful buildable coverage and a nice little highlighter too. You may as well buy her lip compact while you’re at it. I have shade Nude 2 and it’s fab. And her brushes. Basically, everything she does, is chic AF and is good enough for the cover of Vogue, so it’s good enough for us! For days when I’m going to be out in the sun a lot, I like Tower 28 Sunny Days tinted moisturizer. The Westman Atelier complexion drops are beautiful as well. I recently learned how to lightly and gently contour and use Westman Atelier’s face trace in Biscuit. I use my Saie big brush or fingers to blend it in. I only recently discovered the true joys of makeup brushes. The product really does go on so much better! After that I will put a dot of Saie dew blush in Rosy on the apples of my cheeks. Once blended, I do a little dab of Saie glowy super gel to highlight the outer cheekbones. You could also do a lil sweep of bronzer around the cheeks, hairline, across the nose. When I’m on holiday and not wearing much makeup, I use this CC serum from ByTerry to refresh the face after a long day at the beach.

Now onto the eyes, first I take care of the brows. For a more polished look, I’ll lightly fill in the brow with Diorshow brow pencil. But usually I just do a swipe of brow gel like Kosas. On my eyelids, I might dab some more contour which is a nice matte, moody color. Very subtle and chic. Or I’ll use Victoria Beckham eyeshadow stick in pecan. For a more shimmery, bronzey look I love the Kosas 10 second eyeshadow or the brown shade on the RMS Living Luminizer quad. Every once in a while I will do a nice lil cat eye with liquid liner from Chanel. My favvvve mascara is Victoria Beckham. It’s very light and natural, doesn’t flake and washes off with water! Now for lips, my every day go-to is Iris and Romeo Rose Power Peptide Balm. The Rhode peptide balm is cute too when I’m feeling glossy. For a wedding or a big night out, I do love a red lip and the one that stays on all night without fail is NARS powermatte in Starwoman. Be sure to have proper makeup remover with you, cuz that’s what it takes to get this off.

HAIR

I recently received some products from ROZ and am veryyyy obsessed. TBH, short hair takes more work than long hair and without the length, mine was just getting poofy. I think I’ve cracked the code. Wash with ROZ shampoo and conditioner. Comb through their Milk Hair Serum, a few spritzes of Root Lift Spray, then I put a hat on! Keeps my hair from expanding lol. Once dry, I put either another pump of Milk Serum or a few drops of their styling oil. This has been a game changer! I’m also very interested in Crown Affair’s air dry mousse, but haven’t gotten to try yet.

BODY

I’ve got pretty sensitive skin, so I try to use products without chemicals or fragrance. I use Necessaire unscented bodywash which is great. After the shower, I use Osea’s lovelllly collagen body lotion. Not too thick, doesn’t clog my pores. Sidenote, I was looking for a new razor and stumbled upon Athena Club via

Gabriella Gofis

and it is sparking joy!! Highly recommend upgrading from whatever CVS one you may have.

TOILETRY BAG

Now we need something to put it all in! I recently got a little trunkcase which is a perfect size for travel, but really am lusting over a grown up makeup bag like this from Metier X Westman Atelier.
