Retail Therapy
Pick me ups!
Helloooo,
The state of the world is pretty bleak right now. I don’t need to remind you of everything here, but rather I’ll share some things that are giving me a boost right now! There are a lot of Spring launches to dazzle the eyes with freshness and the promise of good times ahead. Sometimes a little retail therapy is just what is needed. Here are some ideas to tickle your fancy…
Jamie Haller just released an excellent spring sneaker. They’re sleek, soft and super cute. They’re kind of like F1 driver shoes! I got the butter color and love them so much. I had an extra pair of red laces so swapped them out for a little personal touch and love the look. I think they’d look awesome with navy laces too.
If you’re like me, you’ve been counting down the days til Fara Homidi’s new Essential Eye Compact release. It’s finally here! A trio of creamy, cashmere texture shadows in the most sumptuous shades. Choose between the trio with black or blue or just get both! If Fara says we should be wearing blue eyeshadow, then we will be wearing blue eyeshadow. I cannot wait to play with these and get a little experimental.
Westman Atelier has launched Hydrabalm! Wow, these look fantastic! Sheer delicious color plus hydration. I am eagerly awaiting my shipment and can’t wait to report back with my thoughts. Very excited to try shades Nectar, English Rose and Glögg which is giving Clinique Black Honey.
My personal queen Mrs Donabe has released a new cookbook called Simply Donabe! My love for donabe is well documented here on Amuse Bouche and Simply Donabe makes it even easier to get into it yourself! I can’t wait to cook through the entire book, but we’ve already made her salmon, quinoa, kale and mushroom dish with yuzu kosho dressing twice in one week. It’s the coziest, easiest weeknight meal.

Bob Beauté is a really cool new line out of Norway that just launched at Violet Grey. I loooove their corrector stick. It’s like a fat crayon that you can just draw on any imperfections or undereyes and blend with your finger. I am actually obsessed. I don’t have much time to do makeup these days and was pleasantly surprised at how well this works. Super natural looking too. I took a darker shade to use on my eyes and contour as well. I’m hooked on their face mist and keep it next to my bed for a refreshing spritz.
My love for Matteau knows no bounds. If I could wear only one brand for the rest of my life, I’d be perfectly happy in Matteau. They’ve just launched sunglasses and they’re as excellent as you’d expect! I picked out the Voyager in tortoise shell which are very similar to my fave old Celines. But tbh, I’m eyeing the 2 other styles as well! Very timeless, logo free and very well priced. P.S. their vacation sale is on now… these trousers are in my cart.
I’m falling more and more in love with Susanne Kauffman. I’ve been a longtime devotee of her incredible eye cream. (The only one worth it, in my opinion!) She is a pioneer of natural beauty and uses alpine botanicals from her home in Austria so no wonder she makes perfect winter skincare. Now I am really hooked on her Nourishing Rich Cream. My skin drinks this up and the texture feels so nice and hydrating. My skin is sensitive and dry, so exfoliating without irritating it is very important! Enter the Enzyme Exfoliator… It’s so satisfying and leaves my skin smooth and glowy. Finally, I’m obsessed with this little roller ball Eye Rescue Serum. It feels so nice on my tired new mom eyes lol.
I’m living for this Doen paisley on paisley look. Such cute styling and is the dream look to wear on holiday where you want to look relaxed but chic af. Also their Stella dress is fab for anyone in their bridal era. Love it layered over the fringey pants!

m.ph is pumping out the hits! I just received her new foundation, Le Skin and it’s pretty amazing. It’s like the Paris filter but for real life! It’s blurry and medium coverage, but still feels lightweight. I’m pretty blown away! I wear shade L70W and I love applying it with the feathery brush too.
Another reason I can’t wait for spring are these Chan Luu shorts! The summer version of their beloved techno taffeta pants. So chic and grown up which are hard to find in a short. I want the green and the black.
Or you can do the ultimate pick me up and book yourself a trip! I just became a member of this new travel platform called Shrtlst. They have curated a bunch of chic hotels that you can book through their portal like 9 Orchard in NY, The Little Nell in Aspen, Chateau Voltaire in Paris at 10-30% off! I’m definitely going to use them when planning our summer travel. There’s also really nice city guides from people with good taste that you can filter by proximity to your hotel, so no more endless google map searches. Well worth the $19/month if you ask me!
Hope this was a nice palate cleanser and maybe even found a treat for yourself. I can’t believe the Olympics are almost over! It’s been so fun and inspiring to tune in every night. If you haven’t seen it already, check out Alysa Liu’s gold medal free skate. She is an absolute queen!!! Wishing you a fabulous weekend. Thank you as always for being here and if you enjoyed today’s letter, give it a heart! <3
