Fruit, flowers and diamond toe rings
Hello Everyone!
It’s been a pretty heavy week here in LA. It’s heartbreaking to see people’s families being senselessly torn apart like this. Sending everyone a big hug who’s feeling scared, stressed and outraged. If you’d like to donate, The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights seems like a good place to do so. And for everyone protesting this weekend, stay safe out there. Today I have a few things to share that brought me joy this week despite all that’s going on.
TO WATCH
Yes, I am watching the new season of Love Island USA every night, but when I’m not doing that, we watched some other stuff my husband was more enthusiastic about. First off, The Rehearsal Season 2 is one of the best shows I’ve seen on TV. I know Nathan Fielder isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but this season seems more focused than the first and I happen to think it is genius. I’m not going to get into any plot details because it’s just impossible to explain, but it’s so creative, totally singular and has some truly hilarious moments. Next, we went with some friends to the movies last weekend to see The Phoencian Scheme by Wes Anderson. I loved it! My fave Wes Anderson in a while. It was really funny, the sets were incredible and the performances were spot on. I loved Mia Threapleton as Liesl and Michael Cera as Bjorn. It was a fun, immersive experience and has you leaving the theater appreciating the little things in life. We just finished the Pee Wee as Himself doc on HBO and wow it is fantastic. He is such a unique treasure who lived an extraordinary, fascinating and misunderstood life. It was so interesting to get a peek into the human side of Paul Reubens outside of the larger than life Pee Wee character, but seems like there’s still so much he kept to himself. A must watch!

I popped by the Chateau this week to see the Rixo gals and try on some of their new summer party ready collection. I picked up this silky mixed floral beauty which is made for dancing. Ok, I am transfixed by the new Aflalo jewelry collection designed by the one and only
. Particularly by the giant diamond toe ring! Her take on a tennis bracelet is making my mouth water! As you might imagine, all the pieces are impossibly chic, yet unexpected in the signature Leandra manner. I am obsessed with fruit right now. During the rest of the year, I am not such a huge fruit person, but right now the peaches, nectarines, blackberries, blueberries, mulberries are all to die for. OMG and don’t forget the plums! I’m also addicted to watermelon and am wanting to make some agua fresca with it! My fave way to start the morning is yogurt, blackberries and sliced peaches paired with a cup of my Early Grey tea. Ideally served to you on a Ginori tray in bed lol. Get thee to a farmer’s market stat to stock up on these fleeting treasures! And grab some peonies while you’re at it!
Alright folks, I’ll leave you with this… Christopher Walken starring in the new Saint Laurent campaign is giving me life! He is one of my all-time faves. Such an unexpected choice, but so so right!
