Greetings!
With tomorrow being the first official day of fall, here are some things I have my eye on for the season. In LA, we have plenty more sunshine on the forecast and we all know that Oct is the best month of the year here, but it's fun to start dressing for the new season. I’m going to NY for a quick trip next week, so hoping to feel a crisp in the air! I’m feeling a little bit of a preppy vibe for fall, very back to school. No need to overhaul your entire wardrobe every year, but it def feels good to refresh some essentials. A new coat, a sweater, a fresh pair of jeans and maybe a new shoe will do wonders for those mourning the end of summer! Here are some pieces I am thinking about purchasing plus a few on my wishlist.

DENIM
Fall ain’t fall til you get a new pair of jeans. I recently got the Alex Mill Carla jeans in dark indigo and am obsessed. They have that dream vintage jean fit and are non stretch but still comfortable. Thinking about getting the black ones too. I also love a crisp dark denim like these which I wear cuffed and get a million compliments on. Queen of denim, Jane on Jeans compiled an incredible list of jeans from her fave substackers, honored to be among them! So many great pairs in there, but these from LouLou Studios have caught my eye.
SHOES
It’s time for me to get a fresh pair of sneakers… I’m digging the brown and red adidas SL 72 which are a little hard to find, but found on StockX! I am loving my Old Stone Trade Blucher shoes. They feel preppy and fresh and are unlike any shoe I own! I will also probably buy a new pair of velvet mary janes and maybe a ballet flat from Le Monde Beryl. My favorite boot is a cowboy boot and I’ll def be wearing my trusty Lucchese’s. And if you’re looking for a new hot boot, Aeyde and Khaite have got you covered!
JACKETS
It’s outerwear season! I want to dabble in a barn jacket but am having a hard time choosing which one to get! Then I remembered this perfect Carhartt x Adam Kimmel in my husband’s closet and will be borrowing it a lot ;) Here’s an alt that’s not sold out! The cropped J.Crew one looks super cute. As does the Doen one. Or I might just splurge and go for this GORGEOUS brown leather jacket from Soeur. So special and beautiful. Or this excellent leather jacket from Kallmeyer. I was kindly gifted this lovely long coat from Ref and it’s great. Can’t wait to go to wear it in NY when it gets chilly. This lil cropped wool number is really cute. Frankie Shop always kills this time of year, I’ve gotten a few incredible winter coats from them and the price is insane. And finally, I want to get this grey blazer from Madewell. Looks sharp, no?
SHIRTING
I can’t stop wearing this rugby shirt! Cute! Also a perfect time for a fresh button down. I’m into this beautiful blue one from Comme Si, this Sessei burgundy stripe is SO chic and as is this olive green from Chava Studios. Fab! I’ve been wearing this black poplin from Alex Mill A LOT. The other colors are really nice.
DRESSES + SKIRTS
I love a mini skirt for fall. It’s also the perfect thing to wear with a sweater in LA. This tweed one is really cute IRL, we all need a crepe skirt like this from Matteau to wear all year round and of course a denim mini. Party season will soon be upon us and this Doen polka dot dress will be my go to. It’s so fab on and I know it will be a winner for years to come.
KNITWEAR
Sweater Weather! TBH, I think Ref cashmere is some of the best. I lived in the oversized Jadey sweater last year and will def be bringing it out again this year. I also want it in chianti. I just got this striped boyfriend sweater as seen in the video above and it’s sooo cute. Just don’t machine wash them and they’ll stay looking good! Also in love with my delicious Doen cashmere cardigans. Seriously perfect.
COZY STUFF
I live to be cozy. Feels good to get a fresh sweatsuit. I LOVE my Colorful Standard sets. I have it in red (sold out online, but avail in their Venice shop for now!) and heather grey and I feel cute while wearing them, not slobby. My other all-time fave is my Sergio Tacchini tracksuit which makes me feel very cool. Also, I just received these shoes and they are insanely comfortable for kickin around the house or even outside!
ACCESSORIES
My Clare V bag is quickly becoming my go to for this season. It appears to be sold out but coming back in Nov! I highly recommend it. If I were to splurge on a bag, I would go for this cutie from Savette. I absolutely love this brand. So chic and understated!
JEWELRY
I love a chic beaded necklace right now. This one from Completed Works is getting a lot of play and adds such a nice texture and makes me feel put together! Also Lié Studios makes a gorgeous one. These from Dorsey are becoming my everyday earring, SO good and for that price!? No brainer. I am also loving more silver for fall like these earrings too. Switching up your jewelry is a great way to transition to the new season even if you’re wearing basically the same thing!
