Helloooo!
This week we celebrated the release of The Greatest Hits with a big fabulous Hollywood premiere. It was one of the coolest experiences of my life! It’s been such a fun ride watching this movie go from a script Ned was writing, to shooting in LA (and in our house!), to editing the final cut and now seeing it out in the world! Still can’t believe I have a little cameo in it as well! This last week was especially cool to see posters for the film all over LA from Venice to Sunset Blvd and beyond. You can check it out now on Hulu and Disney+. Huge congratulations to my husband Ned and the entire team!
First, lets start with the lewk…
A few months ago, one of my besties Sam and I went to see our friend the fabulous vintage dealer, Isabelle Sabadu to see if she had any fun dresses for one of the many events we had for the movie. Isabelle has a super curated selection and will also tailor the pieces perfectly to you. We all loved this little striped sequin number. Such a fun party dress for the premiere and beyond. I felt great going for vintage from Isabelle, not only because it’s more sustainable, it’s totally unique and I love supporting a woman-owned, small business. I felt like a million bucks wearing this dress and can’t wait to pull it out for another occasion. I paired it with some burgundy Reformation heels from my closet that were pretty darn comfortable for a long night.
Jewelry wise, we kept it simple since the dress was so sparkly. My friend Ali recommended a silver Bottega drop earring (dupe here) to bring a modern touch. I also wore an emerald cocktail ring from my fabulous mother in law.
My girl, the amazing hair and makeup artist, Amy Chin helped me out with glam. We wanted sleek and natural hair and glowy skin with subtle eye. Amy knows how to make me took like me, just enhanced!
My mom and I met Ned at the hotel in West Hollywood where he was doing press all day and then got ready, had a little toast of Krug to calm the nerves before heading to the iconic El Capitan theater on Hollywood Blvd. It was incredible to see the marquee all lit up and so many of our favorite people piling into the theater. We got to say hi to a few friends before Ned was whisked to the carpet and press line.
He looked amazing in a Gucci x Husbands suit and a shirt by Corridor. The cast looked incredible as well. Lucy Boynton was perfect in Chanel Haute Couture, Justin H Min was chic AF in Prada and Austin Crute served Marvel villain the house down boots.
Then, right before we went into the theater, I got to meet one of my all-time favorite singers, Nelly Furtado!!! If you knew me in 2006, you knew Promiscuous was the ringtone on my Blackberry. Nelly wrote an original song for the movie and also makes an appearance in it! She was as cool and cute as could be. I am an even bigger fan now!
Now, its showtime! Ned introduced the movie with a touching speech to a packed house filled with so many great friends. He told a story about how he saw Beauty and the Beast at El Capitan when he was a kid and his mom had first moved to LA. What a full circle moment followed by the magical El Cap curtains IYKYK. This was so special and gave me goosebumps. While the movie ran, we slipped out for a quick bite with the amazing Searchlight team at L’Antica Pizzeria (solid spot if you find yourself in the thick of Hollywood).
From there we headed to the afterparty at Grandmaster Recorders. They decked the place OUT with the vinyl soundtrack everywhere, custom Crosley record players, gorgeous flowers and The Greatest Hits espresso martinis! Half Magic had a station where you could get bedazzled it was SO fun! I got one champagne colored crystal placed in the center beneath my lower lash. Looked so chic and it was a fun way to get everyone extra sparkly. The founder of Half Magic, Donni Davy did the makeup for The Greatest Hits and Euphoria, so you know she is gooood. There was also a Levi’s station where you could customize a jean jacket, so cool! Best of all, Bears in Space, also in the movie, dj’ed so the vibe was perfection and we were dancing all night long.
It was so fun to see the amazing team that worked so hard on this movie all come together and enjoy themselves. I’m in awe of what it takes to get a movie made in this town, so I am just beyond proud of Ned and the entire cast and crew who made it all happen. We will miss getting to spend so much time with all of these people, but being even a small part of this process will be something I never forget.
In other news, we have just released the new vintage of Lorenza Rosé! A perfect springtime sipper, we hope you love it!! Here’s a special code just for you AMUSEBOUCHE15 - good til the end of the month!
Now onto the next adventure! We’re currently in NY for the Cherry Bombe Jubilee where we will have a Lorenza booth and I’ll also be introducing the food & fashion panel! We have only a couple nights, but if there are any must hit new NY restaurants, let me know! Went to for a late dinner at Estela last night, still perfect.
Til next time!
